Batteries perform numerous tasks on ships: supplying automatic and communications systems, as starter batteries, as emergency power supply, on-board network battery, etc. In addition to providing resistant and reliable power dissipation, the systems and modules must be able to withstand extreme environmental influences: including corrosive sea air, constant vibrations from the waves, and extreme temperature fluctuations.
